19th c. The chairs are all signed on the bottom by the maker T. G. Furber. The chairs feature a birdcage back with a central medallion which has a yellow painted floral design. They were painted dark green with yellow highlight designs. 36″ high, 19 1/2″ wide, 16″ deep, 17 1/2″ seat height. Good original condition with age appropriate wear. One seat shows minor staining. Provenance: George Considine Antiques, North Dartmouth, MA. Thomas Gerrish Furber was born in Newington, New Hampshire in 1811, married Elizabeth Dow of Newington in 1837. He died in 1888. There is a clock and a desk known to exist by Furber.
