Circa 600-1550 AD. Magnetite. The size indicates that this may have been the representation of a cacique or a member of the Taino elite. It was likely used during ancestral conjuring to call forth the elder spirits to help predict pending events. The forehead is deeply incised with symbolic icons. 9.5″ high x 7 1/2″ wide x 2 1/2″ deep.
