19th C. A rare engraved sperm whale tooth featuring a British harbor scene (recto) with ships and castle, and a ship under sail (verso). It has two holes drilled through the tooth for sinnet cord. The tooth would have belonged to a Fijian chief and possibly traded from sailor. From a Marion estate. 8-1/4″ L Very good condition.
