Rare Kelley and Shepherd alarm Shelf Clock. Early 19th century. New Bedford, Massachusetts. An (8) day weight driven shelf clock with a beautiful mahogany case and reversed painted glass door. It also features an alarm that is constructed in between the frame or plates. The clock is signed faintly on the concave iron dial. 31″ high by 13 1/2″ wide by 6″ deep. Very good condition. It is currently working but not guaranteed. Ezra Kelley and Nathaniel Shepherd both worked in Dartmouth and New Bedford, Massachusetts, in 1820 through 1823 and then again together in 1833 through 1835.
