(5) 19th century Whaling documents. To include: an 1864 letter from Port St. Louis to Captain Charles H Gifford of the Whaling Bark China. 10 1/2″ by 9″. Shows some foxing. An 1851 accounting statement for the Whaleship Falcon. 12 3/4″ by 8 1/4″. Good condition. An 1804 receipt for two cases of hats for the Brig Ecuador, Captain Robert Tabor signed Samuel Rodman. 7 1/4″ by 8″. Shows tears on bottom corners and discoloration. An 1805 letter from Samuel Rodman to Eliza Rodman. 10″ by 16″. Shows a 2″ tear where there was probably a wax seal in. An insurance policy for the ship Sophia owner, William Rotch, in the amount of $3000 for a Whaling voyage to the Brazil Banks. 16 1/2″ by 10″. Shows small tear in center as well as discoloration where it was folded.
