Belle Epoque period, late 19th / early 20th century. Brass mounts on a carved Chinese sandalwood base depicting a dragon carrying its baby sitting on a separate brass footed circular base. High quality, jeweled 8-day Swiss movement with pendant wind and set. Front and rear glasses magnify the dial and the mechanism. 6 1/2″ high x 6″ base diameter. Clock body 3 1/8″ diameter. Appears to be working but not guaranteed. A few very minor losses to foliage edges on base. Provenance: From the estate of Alan Gaines of A & A Gaines Antiques, Newport, Rhode Island.
