1960s-70s. (2) torch-cut welded and chased flat panels, made in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti of recycled steel drums. Typical of Haitian folk art, these panels feature birds, foliage, and humanoid figures. Signed “JN P. Bernard”. These pieces were acquired by Harvey Probber Furniture directly from the artist in Haiti. Later they were acquired by the consignor from the Harvey Probber factory in Fall River, Massachusetts upon its closure. Both approximately 71″ high x 34 1/2″ wide. Some small cracks.
