Taber was born in New Bedford. (2) framed album photos to include #26 The Three Brothers, 3818 feet, Yosemite, Cal image size 8 1/4″ x 12″, signed lower right. Taber photo San Francisco. The second image is #44 Royal Arches, Yosemite, Cal, 8 1/4″ x 12″. Both are in period card oak frames, 18 1/2″ x 22 1/2″. Taber traveled to San Francisco in 1850 to look for gold and instead opened a photography studio and quickly became one of the West’s premier photographers.
