Late 18th century. The dish bears the mark “WS”, likely that of William Stroud of London with a 1795-6 date mark. Oval shaped. The lid has a pommel top handle with acanthus leaf designs and engraved armorial patterns. The dish has C scroll and acanthus leaf design handles and feet and armorial engraving. The Latin motto reads “Confido Conquiesco”. Also marked on bottom. Approximately 95 ozt. 6″ high x 16 1/2″ wide x 11″ deep.
