Dated 1877. Made by Roberts & Belk. The inscription reads “Presented to Capt. E. Maxwell Lyte by the non-com officers and men of his troop as a small token of respect and esteem on his leaving the Regt. N.7th DGN GDS Nembridge 30th Apr 1877”. Finely chased with geometric designs throughout. Hinged lid. 5 1/4″ high x 2 1/3″ wide. 5.02 ozt. Small crack to seam on bottom.
