16th century. Northern European. Has a carved wooden stock, heavy iron bow with bone inlay. Includes a wrought iron cocking device with carved wooden shoulder. Bow measures: 54″ long x 28 1/2″ wide. Appears to be in original finish. Cocking device measures: 27″ long x 6 1/2″ wide. Provenance: From the estate of Alan Gaines of A & A Gaines Antiques, Newport, Rhode Island.
