Doubleday, Doran & Co., NY, 1944. 4to, blue cloth boards, spine and edges show wear and fading. Interior is in very good condition. Signed Clifford Ashley, Westport, May 5, 1944. Remarked “These are the gifts of art and art thrives most where commerce has enriched the busy coast. – Couper” Along with two mixed media sketches depicting African women, one is titled “High Point Crib” Sight size 4 3/4″ x 4″. The other is titled “Light Trailer”, signed lower left CWA, sight size 5″ x 7″. Both are in black carved frame with matting, 8 1/2″ x 10 3/4″.
