Anthony Thieme (1888-1954, MA & CAL), oil painting on canvas, titled on verso Patio A Torremolinos (Spain’s southern resort coast of Costa del Sol). Depicting a courtyard with colorful flowers and figure in doorway. Signed lower left A. Thieme. Sight size 21 1/2″ by 30″, in period frame 32″ by 37″ overall. Good original condition. Comes with its original purchase receipt December 3, 1954 from Grand Central Art Galleries. There is also a handwritten letter from Lillian Thieme (Anthony’s wife) thanking Mrs. Stockman for purchasing the painting.
