Diane Gamache McNamee was born and raised in the serene town of Lakeville, Massachusetts, where her love for animals and the community blossomed. After graduating with a degree in finance from UMass, she delved into the banking and accounting sectors, honing her skills and expertise. Diane’s commitment to her passions led her to become a stalwart advocate for animal welfare, dedicating her time and efforts to various initiatives.
Settling in Marion, she immersed herself in the vibrant community, becoming a cherished member over the years. Her dedication to preserving history and treasures led her to manage the Marion Antique Shop, where her keen eye and business acumen flourished. Diane’s journey is not just one of professional success, but of a deep-rooted commitment to her values and the betterment of her surroundings.
Nick Taradash is a seasoned auctioneer and antique dealer hailing from Rhode Island, USA. With a passion for uncovering and preserving pieces of history, Nick’s journey into the world of antiques began early, fueled by a fascination with the stories embedded within each artifact.
Nick’s expertise was honed through various prestigious institutions and experiences. He first delved into the realm of historical artifacts and maritime heritage during his tenure at the New Bedford Whaling Museum and the Nantucket Historical Association. These experiences not only deepened his appreciation for the past but also provided him with invaluable insights into the intricacies of antique preservation and presentation.
Eager to expand his knowledge and refine his craft, Nick pursued advanced studies at the Sotheby’s Institute of Art in New York City, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Fine and Decorative Arts and Design. This academic pursuit equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of art history, authentication techniques, and market trends.
Nick’s professional journey has taken him to the heart of the art world. He worked at the New York Design Center, where he immersed himself in the vibrant world of contemporary design and fine art. Additionally, his tenure at the 1stdibs Gallery provided him with firsthand exposure to exceptional objects from around the globe.
In 2021, Nick Taradash took a significant step forward in his career by assuming the role of Junior Partner at Marion Antique Auctions. In this capacity, he brings his wealth of knowledge and passion for objects to the forefront, and loves helping clients find whatever they might be looking for.
Nick’s dedication to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage through the world of antiques is unwavering. With each auction and transaction, he strives to not only connect buyers with extraordinary pieces but also to perpetuate the narratives and legacies embedded within them.
David Glynn’s journey in the auction business spans over five decades, a testament to his passion and expertise in the trade. His fascination with auctions began at a remarkably young age, even before he could drive. At just twelve years old, armed with a wheelbarrow, he eagerly attended auctions in Sandwich, Massachusetts, ready to transport his purchases home.
David’s early immersion in the auction world laid the foundation for a remarkable career. He honed his skills and knowledge through hands-on experience, working alongside industry veterans at Sandwich Auctions and Willis Henry Auctions. With each auction, he gained invaluable insights into the art of appraisal, bidding, and salesmanship.
In 1989, fueled by a desire to carve his own path in the industry, David established Turkey Creek Auctions in Gainesville before eventually moving to Citra, Florida. What began as a humble venture soon blossomed into Central Florida’s premier auction destination. Under David’s guidance, Turkey Creek Auctions flourished, attracting collectors and enthusiasts from far and wide.
In 2010 David helped co-found Marion Antique Auctions along with his friend Frank McNamee. Together the pair have helped build the auction house into one of the premier companies in New England.
Today, David Glynn’s gallery is renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse offerings. With a keen eye for quality and a deep understanding of market trends, he has cultivated Turkey Creek Auctions into the busiest auction gallery in Central Florida.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, David remains deeply committed to fairness, and customer satisfaction. This has earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
With over half a century of experience under his belt, David Glynn continues to shape the auction landscape, leaving an indelible mark on the industry he holds dear.
Frank McNamee is a distinguished figure in the world of antiques, with a career spanning over 45 years. A longtime resident of Marion, Massachusetts, Frank’s journey into the realm of antiques began in his high school days when he embarked on this passionate pursuit alongside his mother. Since then, his expertise has only flourished.
Education has been a cornerstone of Frank’s professional development. He holds degrees from Providence College, Bridgewater State University, and Boston College, along with certifications from the Rhode Island School of Design appraisal program and the Winterthur Winter Institute program. This academic foundation has provided him with a multifaceted understanding of antiques, blending artistry, history, and valuation.
As a testament to his commitment to excellence, Frank is a proud member of esteemed organizations such as the New England Appraisers Association and the American Society of Appraisers. His certification as a USPAP appraiser underscores his adherence to the highest standards of professional practice in the field.
Beyond his appraisal work, Frank is deeply involved in preserving local history as the curator of the Sippican Historical Society Museum, a role he has fulfilled with passion and dedication. His tenure as a former president of the society speaks volumes about his leadership and commitment to community heritage.
Together with his wife Diane, Frank has been at the helm of Marion Antiques Shop on Route 6 for over three decades, fostering a haven for collectors and enthusiasts alike. Their enduring partnership in both business and life is a testament to their shared love for antiques and dedication to serving their community.
